SB OverSeas has set up three centers in Lebanon (Beirut, Saida and Arsal), training centers for women, located in refugee camps or close to them.
Our women’s center programs are designed to empower them economically, psychologically and socially. We offer literacy programs for young and old refugee women, as well as vocational skills training to enable them to earn income in a new country. SB OverSeas also offers a program of psychological and social support for women. Through several creative and social activities, we provide them with a secure space to discuss and discuss with each other. This creates a network of mutual support, a key to rebuilding the community network.
In our flagship Bukra Ahla Center in Beirut , we launched a new program for young refugee women in September 2016. The goal is to provide education and social support, as well as to protect them from the particular threats they face. , such as child marriage. Through our empowerment programs, we aim to develop their sense of self and help them find their voice in the community and society. In addition, we engage with families and communities to raise awareness about the consequences of child marriage.
Thanks to our SB Espoir project, we support unaccompanied minor asylum seekers in their integration into Belgian society as well as women and girls in the “Son Choix, Son Avenir” project by bringing together young people, women and children. volunteers from the community. The activities and workshops, and more generally the time spent with volunteers and asylum seekers, allow them to broaden their vision of what a future life in Belgium might look like. By experiencing Belgian culture together, acquiring new skills and exploiting potential opportunities, we give them the tools to build their lives.
